I have known Laura and her family for approximately 13 years, and for that alone, I am truly blessed. She is a powerful woman of God, as well as an inspirational leader. The Lord’s anointing flows through her words, and also through the music of Maleka, her amazing daughter … which touches the hearts of all who are present.
Laura has walked through fire in her own personal life, and has come out on the other side fully surrendered to Jesus. Her life of obedience and sacrifice will both inspire you and challenge you to surrender to Jesus, even when it comes with great sacrifice. Her message of surrender to Him is powerful and life changing. Her compassion for the lost is evident in her ministry. It comes with no judgment … “Jesus loves the lost and broken, no one is too broken for him.” You will be encouraged and challenged by this humble woman of God to be wholly surrendered to Jesus.
“Never a dull moment!” This old phrase can certainly be said about Laura West and her amazing testimony of God’s love, mercy, and grace in her life. She and her husband, John, have fostered and loved many children through the years, but their story of how God brought a small, abused, badly burned baby into their life was the pivotal point in how God would use them for His glory.
That little baby girl was adopted by John and Laura West. They would soon realize that Maleka’s story, Laura’s story, was really God’s Story. Through humor and a great passion for sharing the love of God with others, Laura and Maleka have touched the hearts and lives of thousands of men and women through conferences, revivals, special events, etc.
You will laugh. You will cry. You will be touched. I guarantee that anyone who hears their testimony (and Maleka, who is blind, SINGS!), will be both encouraged and challenged to walk more closely with the Lord and to trust Him “no matter what.”
What do you do when someone impacts your life in a huge way?
You write a review to tell the world how amazing this experience was!
I came to the event, without even knowing what I was coming to. I just showed up, and had no expectations. I was told “a comedian” is coming, by a friend.
After dinner ended, Laura West took the stage, and YES, she is FUNNY! I love to laugh, and actually remembered her jokes when I got home that evening! They were THAT funny! But, after that part of the event, things became more serious as Laura told the story of her ministry and adoption of Maleka. The story is one of God’s love, his purpose for our lives, and forgiveness. I came in the door a very angry and hurt Christ-loving woman, and left a changed wife. I went home and immediately told my husband what I had experienced and the miracle that had transformed my life through her story.
Maleka took the stage and sang beautiful songs with her God given talent, that is off the chart! The combination of the comedy, testimony, and Maleka’s songs make for the most memorable evening that has impacted my life and others through her amazing story.
I can’t recommend enough how special Laura and Maleka are, and your life will be touched in a way you have never been before. I am still telling people about it, a week later, which prompted me to write this review.
On May 1, 2021, the 11th annual ladies conference was held at Lynn Valley Baptist Church in Elizabethton, TN, with one hundred thirty eight ladies in attendance. Laura was wonderful with her humor- just what we needed after more than a year of COVID-19 – to her inspirational words that so touched our hearts. And then Maleka and her singing – no words to express the experience. Everyone is still talking about Laura and Maleka! I certainly look forward to seeing them again.
